Vinyl plank for Hamilton ranchers, capes and colonials: subfloor prepped, plank run tight under the baseboard heat. Across the Route 1 bridge from Fallsington.
Hamilton is the biggest township in Mercer County and the housing runs the whole range: 50s and 60s ranchers and capes around Mercerville, Yardville and Hamilton Square, 70s and 80s colonials, and newer developments toward Robbinsville. A lot of the older houses heat with hot-water baseboard, which matters for flooring. The plank has to run tight under the baseboard covers with the right gap, without pulling the heat off the wall and without a visible strip of trim to hide the joint.
The Hamilton bedroom in the photos below is a good example: carpet out, subfloor screwed down and leveled, a light grey-wash plank run the length of the room, slid under the baseboard heat and finished tight to the wall, furniture back in place. Bedrooms, hallways and whole first floors are the bulk of what we do in Hamilton, and the Route 1 bridge from Morrisville puts most of the township fifteen to twenty minutes from Fallsington.

The questions Hamilton homeowners ask about vinyl plank, answered the way we quote: straight.
Usually not. The plank slides under the heater cover with the expansion gap it needs, and the cover comes back down over it. If a cover sits too low to clear the plank we lift it, not the heating element. It is a detail we plan at the walkthrough.
Yes. We move it out of the room, install, and set it back once the floor is done. For a whole floor we work it room by room so you are never fully displaced.
